Commonly Asked Implant Dentistry Questions
What are dental implants?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root used to hold an artificial tooth. It's implanted in the jawbone and provides an anchor for one or more artificial teeth.

Some implants are a type of screw or cylinder.

Implants are made of titanium, which fuses well with bone The final result is a strong support structure that, in most cases, will hold your false tooth in place for the rest of your life.

Am I a candidate for implants?

Only a qualified implant dentist Like Dr. Matin can determine if dental implants are the right solution for you. Generally speaking though, if you have a missing tooth or teeth due to injury or disease, you are probably a candidate for some type of implant. Implants are usually a great solution for people who cannot wear removable dentures as well as those with just a single missing tooth.

How long does the procedure take?

That partly depends on which type of implant you have, and how your procedure is done. Usually several months must pass in between placing the implant and attaching the tooth to it, but exactly how long a period this will be varies with each of us. After an evaluation, implant dentist, Laura Matin will be able to give you a timeline for completion.

What can I expect from dental implants?

After your procedure is complete and your new tooth is attached to the implant, you will see no obvious difference between the new tooth and your natural teeth. You can expect to enjoy all your favorite foods and to have no trouble with the new tooth becoming loose.

Your new teeth will be permanent, secure and beautiful. Dr. Matin is a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and has performed numerous implant procedures.
